Who We Are
Sporting Patagonia was founded by Coach McKenzie Olivares, who moved to Florida in 2004. From the age of 10 to 14, he played throughout Chile and Argentina with Barrabases International, gaining early exposure to elite competition and international soccer culture. After relocating to the U.S., he competed at the highest level of youth soccer with Black Watch SC, winning a State Cup and participating in national tournaments.
In 2006, he reached the U14 final of the prestigious Donosti Cup International in San Sebastián, Spain. In 2009, he earned a full scholarship to play for North Idaho College (NIC), where he matched up against top universities from the Northwest and participated in international tournaments across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. He later returned to Chile and played in the second division, narrowly missing a first-division professional debut.
Following his playing career, Coach McKenzie shifted his focus to developing the next generation of youth players.
As the sole coach and founder of Sporting Patagonia, Coach McKenzie has helped hundreds of players achieve their personal and athletic goals. The academy provides high-quality training and one-on-one guidance for youth club placements, athletic scholarships, collegiate off-season development, and international tournament opportunities in Chile and Brazil.
At Sporting Patagonia, athletes are trained to pursue athletic excellence while embracing strong values, discipline, and integrity—on and off the field.
